Thoughts for today...

You know, poetry really kinda sucks. But it does make your mind focus.

Heard any good jokes lately?

Kids are such a hugh blessing, while being a hugh sacrifice at the same time. I think it's worth it... sometimes.

Does anybody need an ex-wife?

lol. That made me think of that country song... OH, I'm sure gonna miss her... well looky there, I got a bite.

Today is partly cloudy.

Friday was on an Island.

Who's on first.

I don't know.

a life for the taking.

Which direction do I go... up, down, left or right.
Maybe I should wish upon a star... I wish I may, I wish I might.

It seems there are blocks to stumble on... all along the way.
But somehow we seem to make it through... be it night or day.

It's really wierd how this all works out... and I really don't care why.
Because you see... its your life for the taking... so please, choose to soar high!

Here is a poem I wrote that kind of co-incited with the poem below... about 2001 sometime...

I wrote this for a girl I meet that told me she never got up early... and never saw a sunrise...

Here comes the sun!

It's another beautiful day!

Smile!

I can't believe you haven’t seen a sunrise!

There is nothing more beautiful!

Well, no sun yet, but my hopes are high and I can see it's trying to break out from behind the clouds and fog.

Did you not see a sunrise... or is it that maybe you didn't pay attention?

Even with fog and clouds, it is absolutely beautiful outside.

It's another beautiful day.

Another day I'm glad to be alive.

Smile!

Here is the poem I submitted for the below honors...

It was something I wrote when I was going through my divorce and sitting in my one (1) bedroom apartment, on my couch, looking out the front window at my bird feeders one early morning in 2001...

Smile!

Here comes the sun!
I’m watching the birds in the feeder, and its such a simple beauty.
Peacefulness.
Serenity.
Another miracle of life.
But you can see the different breeds of birds, more so as individuals,
battle to be next in the feeder.
Patience.
Persistence.
A testament in survival.
Every day.
Every hour.
Every minute.
It’s another amazingly beautiful day.
Here comes the sun!

Well.. what do you know... I do enjoy writing poetry but what is this?

~ LYRICS ~ I STARTED A JOKE

Written by:

(1968)

I started a joke,
which started the whole world crying,
but I didn't see
that the joke was on me, oh no.

I started to cry,
which started the whole world laughing.
Oh, if I'd only seen
that the joke was on me.

I looked at the skies,
running my hands
over my eyes,
and I fell out of bed,
hurting my head
from things that I'd said.

Til I finally died,
which started the whole world living.
Oh, if I'd only seen
that the joke was on me.

I looked at the skies,
running my hands
over my eyes,
and I fell out of bed,
hurting my head
from things that I'd said.

Til I finally died,
which started the whole world living.
Oh, if I'd only seen, oh yeah,
that the joke was one me, oh no,
that the joke was one me, oooooh.

Good Morning!

I woke up at 4:00 am this morning. I heard the rain outside and could not get back to sleep. I got up and decided I would post something on my blog but, now that I'm here, I can't think of what to write. I'll start with the rain.

I love a rainy day every now and then. I opened up the 3 windows that surround the computer. It's too dark outside to see, so I turned on the outside lights. A cold breeze is blowing through and my feet are getting cold. It is so nice though. I hope it keeps raining until after it is light outside.

I spent the last few days being sick with what I think was the flu. My boy Alex had it also. We got some cold/flu medicine that basically knocked us out. Needless to say, not much got done the last few days. Alex ended up missing 2 days of school. Jef told me yesterday morning that he was sick (and stayed home) but, by noon it was obvious he was not. Emily is just a trooper and keeps on going. She told me even if she is sick, she is not going to miss school. I'm glad she feels that way.

Well, its about time to wake the kids up and get them off to school. If all is well and I can get them all off to school today, I will love it. Again, I hope it keeps raining. I will just sit and stare out the windows and watch the rain for awhile. Other then that, I have a lot of laundry and cleaning to do. hmmm... maybe after a nice early morning nap to the wonderful sounds outside.

Take a quiz? These are my results.

You are funky, outdoorsy, and down to earth.
While you may not be a total hippie...
You're definitely one of the most free spirited people around.

You are very impulsive - every day is a new adventure.
However, you do put some thought behind all your actions.
Still, you do tend to shock and offend people from time to time!

Mudding drywall is not fun. Just got home and checked my e-mail.

I wrote this poem awhile ago and was just reminded of it by an e-mail. It was a thought I had when I was told a story about a wife that waited faithfully for her Soldier Husband to return from duty.

"Her Kiss"

To find such a love
In this day and time
Is something I pray
Will one day be mine

It would bring me great joy
Happiness and bliss
To know I have waiting
Such a woman as this
To simply tell me she loves me
As she saves me her kiss
